Similar But Different
The Boy and Girl each have a friend over. Both friends are girls (all the Boy's friends are girls). But two kids are in the bedroom, listening to Taylor Swift, doing hair, and singing on the microphone. And other two kids are in the backyard creating a volcano from dirt and a hose.

But we, too, had a volcano-building here awhile back and it was a blast. As well as a total mess. Which is, of course, part of what made it a blast. ;)
Love it. Both activities sound terrific. I can't imagine having to choose between the two if I were a kid in your house :)
Perfect! Only a pity that there would be less social acceptance in male friends doing their hair and listening to TS (I don't mean in your house, GEW; I'm sure there would be plenty of acceptance there!).
